Thank You for Supporting Us

Museum visitors, members, and neighbors have a huge role to play in the success of the PMA Union’s strike. Here are some of the ways you supported us during our strike.

Respecting our picket line

Thank you for refraining from:

  • Visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art or the Rodin Museum

  • Shopping in person or online at the museum store

  • Applying to temporary “scab” jobs at the museum intended to replace striking workers

Contributing to our Strike Fund

Our strike fund was a vital tool to help us win the contract we need. The money in our strike fund is used to purchase necessary supplies and to support workers who go on strike, withholding their labor and sacrificing their pay to win change in their workplace.

You can learn more about the strike fund on our fundraising page.

Joining us on the picket line

Friends, family, and allies joined us on the picket line throughout the strike! Donations of food, drinks, and other supplies kept us going, rain or shine. We picketed any time the museum would usually be open, as well as during working hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when the museum was closed to the public.

A Google Maps screenshot showing the location of the picket sign-in, which is located directly across from the museum's North Entrance, between Anne d'Harnoncourt Drive and Kelly Drive.

Contacting the PMA

The museum exists to serve you; your feedback makes a difference. You sent over 3,000 emails in support for our strike and fight for a fair contract to the museum’s CEO, COO, and Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Signing our solidarity letter
